Terms of use

Use SeminarSmack responsibly

SeminarSmack is provided as an open-source classroom interaction tool. Use it only for lawful, respectful activity and only with content you are permitted to share.

No sensitive data

Do not use sessions to collect passwords, payment information, health information, safeguarding disclosures, or other sensitive personal data. Do not require participants to use their real names.

Temporary service

Live rooms are not a guaranteed archive or assessment record. Connections can fail, responses can be lost, and exports should be checked before being relied upon.

Third-party service

Live synchronisation depends on the configured realtime provider. The operator deploying SeminarSmack is responsible for reviewing that provider’s terms, security, location, and data-processing arrangements.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse room codes, attempt to disrupt sessions, submit unlawful material, or use the service in a way that risks another person’s privacy or safety.

These terms are a practical starting point and should be reviewed for the operator’s jurisdiction and institution.
